Invest in an IRA with Mutual Funds
When you invest in an IRA with mutual fund options, your money is combined with investment dollars from other investors to purchase stocks, bonds and other securities, according to your objectives and risk tolerance. Different types of mutual funds have different risks and different return potentials. Mutual funds invest in a diversified portfolio of securities, resulting in potentially less risk exposure than individual stock investments.
Professional Management
An important advantage of mutual funds is their professional, day-to-day management. The mutual fund company appoints a professional manager or team of managers to oversee the performance of the fund and to make certain that it performs according to prospectus objectives.Traditional and Roth IRAs
Whether you are changing jobs or retiring, knowing which IRA is right for you can be confusing. Consult with your financial representative for more information.Mutual of Omaha Investor Services, Inc. (MOIS) offers both Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs.
- Traditional IRAs
With a Traditional IRA you can delay paying taxes on your retirement plan distribution now, but would pay taxes on the money as you withdraw it in retirement.1 Currently, eligible individuals with earned income can make tax-deductible contributions of up to $5,000 per year ($6,000 for persons age 50 and older). - Roth IRAs
Roth IRAs are beneficial if you want to create a tax-free pool of money for retirement, or as a legacy for your heirs. Contributions are made with after-tax dollars. You would need to pay taxes on all or a portion of your retirement plan distribution now, in order to avoid paying taxes on the money as you withdraw it in retirement.1
One of our Mutual of Omaha Investor Services registered representatives can help you select from our array of mutual fund families and funds. We also can develop a custom asset allocation and distribution plan for your exact risk tolerance and time horizon.
